Variety of Succulents available in 4" nursery pots.
Soft Succulents, also known as tender succulents, have a wide range of colors, shapes, and textures.
When kept outside, they must be protected from freezing temperatures and direct afternoon to evening sun, as this is the hottest part of the day and can easily burn/scar soft succulents.
Many can grow indoors when given sufficient light, such as a South-facing window.
Most will keep color year-round with proper care and lighting conditions.
To prevent root rot, it's best to have a pot with drainage.
Sempervivum (Hens and Chicks) are known as Hardy Succulents, as they can handle freezing temperatures, but should still be protected from frost (dew that freezes on the plant). Frost damage can cause tan/brown scarring. Sempervivum are ideal for colder climates and can survive up to zone 5 (-20F). North Texas: Zone 8a.
Sempervivum do very well in pots, but also need good drainage and should be protected from direct afternoon sun, unless it has been fully acclimated. Great for rock gardens.
Cacti are known as Hardy Succulents, as they can handle freezing temperatures, but should still be protected from frost (dew that freezes on the plant). Frost damage can cause tan/brown scarring. Most Cacti can survive up to zone 5 (-20F). North Texas: Zone 8a.
Cacti do very well in pots, but also need good drainage and should be protected from direct afternoon sun, unless it has been fully acclimated.
